About ABS Raw Material:

The large diversity of end uses makes ABS one of the most successful thermoplastics available. ABS is a copolymer of Acrylonitrile, Butadiene and Styrene, blended to give unrivaled properties, offering benefits over traditional material like metal and other plastic pipes.

Acrylonitrile imparts chemical resistance ensuring the pipework does not corrode or scale. The Butadiene content endows the material with impact strength and toughness particularly at low temperatures, while the Styrene content contributes to lustre, hence extremely smooth bores, and also ensures the strength of the material.

Air Line Special

ABS Material :

The system of Air–Line special is made of engineering thermoplastics Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene (ABS) with a range of performance. Advanced manufacturing techniques allow the formation of a liner layer in the pipe bore. The liner is a high performance co polymeric material which offers extra strength (because it is permanently fused with the outer, ABS layer during the extrusion process). It also help from attack if exposed to some compressor oil details is available in our technical data. If in doubt always check before installation.

Technical Specifications:

Quick Installation Steps

Quick Installation Steps

  • Measure pipe from bottom or shoulder of each socket into which pipe is to fit.
  • Cut pipe to required length, making sure cut is square.
  • Ream inside and chamfer outside of pipe to eliminate all burrs. Sand lightly.
  • Clean all dirt, moisture, and grease from pipe and fitting socket using a clean, dry cloth.
  • Check dry fit of pipe in fitting socket.
  • Apply a light coat of ASTM D2235 ABS solvent cement to the inside of the fitting socket and the outside of the pipe.
  • Insert pipe into fitting socket, giving the pipe a one-quarter turn and making sure it goes all the way to the socket bottom.
  • Hold the joint together until a tight set is attained.
  • Check cement bead around joint; wipe excess cement from the pipe.
  • Don't move the system until the joints have cured (set) at least as long as recommended by the solven.

ABS vs CPVC Pipe

PROPERTIES ABS CPVC
FACTURE MODE Fusion ABS is a ductile material, and remains ductile down to minus 40ºC. Impact damage is usually confined toscuffs or dents. In severe cases there may be ductile tearing of the material. In contrast, PVC-U and PVC-C are much less ductile, particularly at temperatures below +5ºC. A sufficiently hard impact can cause them to fragment.

Application- Conveying air Suitable for compressed air line CPVC must not be used for piping systems intended to convey air or other compressed gases and should not be tested with air or other compressed gases.
Effect on UV No effect De- hydrochlorination reaction which effects operating capacity & development of external cracks.
Raw Material Contamination Fusion ABS does not contain any harmful metallic stabilisers, and is widely used to convey high purity de-ionised water in semi-conductor and pharmaceutical During the manufacturing process of PVC certain additives (Calcium, Tin and others) used (required) to aid the manufacturing process. This practice gives an opportunity to add inproportionate additives to process which hamper the quality of final product.

ABS vs CPVC Pipe

Abs Piping Systems

Abs Piping Systems

The system is less expensive and very easy to install than metal piping; Feature superior flow to smooth interior finish; Do not rot, rust, corrode or collect waste; withstand earth loads and shipping(with proper handling); Resist mechanical damage, even at low temperatures; Performance at an operational temperature range of –40°C to +80°C; Are light weight (one person can load and unload):take less time to rough in than metal.

IMPACT STRENGTH :

Fusion ABS pipe is a relatively ductile thermoplastic which exhibits very high impact strength compared to other thermoplastics particularly at moderate low temperature.

TEMEPATURE RANGE :

A great advantage of Fusion ABS pipe over other plastic systems is its ability to perform over a wide temperature range from –40°C to +80°C. This makes Fusion ABS pipe very versatile and capable of
handling water carrying capacity at very low temperature places to very high temperature places.

ENVIRONMENTAL ADVANTAGE :

The use of ABS contributes positively to the environment as it takes approximately one sixth of the energy to manufacture compared to metal products. This has direct savings in green house gas
emissions. Additionally ABS is lead and chlorine free and can be readily recycled.

CHEMICAL RESISTANT :
Fusion ABS PIPE is unaffected by both internal and external chemical attack by a wide range of acids, alkalis, ground water salts and other environmental factors.Fast, simple, high integrity jointing Cement Solvent welding is a simple process which produces a permanent joint of strength equal to, or exceeding, the pipe itself. No special tools, equipment, or hot work permit is required, No site down-time due to electricity shut down.
